Yunus Musah is a transfer target for Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea

United States men’s national team midfielder Yunus Musah attracted interest from transfer targets after his solid performance at the World Cup. The 20-year-old playmaker formed a formidable partnership in the center of the field alongside Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.
Musah currently plays for Valencia at club level. The Spanish side have already tied the American to a deal until 2026, but reports suggest they are willing to extend his current contract. In addition to the long-term contract, Musah also has a $105 million release clause. However, potential buyers most likely will not have to spend the full amount to purchase the midfielder.
Premier League trio has set Yunus Musah as a transfer target
90min has claimed that Valencia has opened contract talks with Musah to fend off interest. The outlet also says a trio of Premier League giants are circling the American midfielder. Chelsea and Liverpool have supposedly contacted Musah’s representatives, while Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to his World Cup matches.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed the reports and also added Inter Milan to the list of possible destinations. ‘Yunus Musah is on the list of Premier League clubs’ said Romano. “Arsenal have recently sent their scouts to keep an eye on him, but other Premier League giants are well aware, Inter Milan are also interested. He could leave Valencia between January and June.”
Musah was previously part of Arsenal’s youth academy before moving to Spain in 2019. The midfielder signed for the Gunners aged nine and spent seven seasons in the Arsenal academy. Musah was also an England youth international before switching national sides as a senior player.
The transfer fee would most likely not be a release clause
Despite the mass release clause at Valencia, Musah’s agent said calciomercato last month that his client was able to leave Spain for just $31-$42 million. The agent also claimed that the Premier League and Serie A “have an advantage for his future”.
Valencia is currently 10th in the LaLiga ranking. However, they do have all the power over Musah’s near future. With the midfielder’s current contract not due to expire until 2026, a potential bidding war between the big clubs could favor the Spanish side.
