Mumbai Indians (MI) have continued their dominance in the ongoing 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL) by claiming their fourth consecutive victory. In the 10th match, Mumbai took on UP Warriorz at Brabourne Stadium and beat them by eight wickets on Sunday.

First up, UP Warriorz hit a total of 159 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. captain Alyssa Healey was the team’s top scorer, contributing 58 runs off 46 balls, including 7 fours and 1 six. Tahlia McGrath also scored with 50 from 37 balls and hit 9 fours. Amelia Kerr was the bowler’s choice for Mumbai, taking 2 wickets for 33 runs in her 4 overs quota.

In response, Mumbai Indians chased the target with ease reaching 164 for the loss of just 2 wickets in 17.3 overs. captain Harmanpreet Kaur was the star of the evening as she led from the front and remained unbeaten with 53 off 33 balls including 9 fours and 1 six. Harman was well supported by the England star Nat Sciver-Brunt who went undefeated with 45 off 31 balls, 6 fours and a maximum.

“Very happy with the performance. The way we are dealing now I think this is the best tournament so far. Thanks to Nat she played really well. She gave me some time to settle in and play some shots later. We were a bit tense with the way they batted but I knew a wicket or two could get the momentum back in our favour, we were calculating how many overs were left and which bowlers to focus on aim, and that’s what cricket is all about. You have to express yourself and choose your targets. We just have to keep doing the right things.” sad Harmanpreet after taking down the Player of the Match award.
