WPL 2023: Delhi defeated Warriorz to reach the final; Mumbai beats Bangalore in Tuesday’s double-header

The final day of competition in the 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL) saw an exciting double-header where Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the afternoon fixture while Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated UP Warriorz in the evening game.

Mumbai opted to bowl first after winning the coin toss which turned out to be a good decision as they managed to limit RCB to a total of 125/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Richa Ghosh And Ellys Perry were the team’s top scorers, each contributing 29 runs. Amelia Kerr the bowlers’ choice are for MI with figures of 3/22. Nat Sciver-Brunt also scored by 2 wickets for 24 runs in her 4 overs quota.

In response, MI got off to a solid start with their openers Yastica Bhatia And Hailey Matthews setting up a 53-run partnership. After their dismissal, Amelia, who shone with the ball, played a crucial knockout of 31 not off 27 balls, including 4 fours, to lead her team to victory. for Bangalore, Kanika Ahuja finished with figures of 2/5 in a single over.

In the evening game, the Capitals completely defeated the Warriorz to advance directly to the WPL 2023 Finals. Bowling first, DC limited UP at 138/6, with Alice Capsey three wickets for 26 in her 4 overs quota. Radha Yadav also picked up a pair of scalps for 28 runs in 4 overs.

Tahlia McGrath stood out for the Warriorz with an unbeaten 58 off just 32 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Alyssa Healey also made a valuable contribution of 36 runs off 34 balls with 4 fours and 1 six.
