The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 kicked off with a bang on Friday, March 31, as fans eagerly awaited the highly anticipated opening ceremony at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The event featured rousing celebrity performances including Tamannah Bhatia And Rashmika Mandannaboth famous actresses and singer Arijit Singh.
Adding a touch of music to the opening ceremony with his soothing voice, Arijit wowed the audience with some of his hit songs, including ‘Kesariya’ from the movie ‘Brahmastra’. His performance was one of the highlights of the evening.

Known for her role in the movie ‘Baahubali’, Tamannaah delivered a unique performance that paid tribute to all Indian states and IPL teams. She performed several songs in different languages including Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati. For the performance, Tamannaah wore a beautiful shimmering silver catsuit designed by the popular Falguni Shane Peacock. The 33-year-old actress wowed the audience with her mesmerizing performance and set the stage on fire.

Another South Indian actress, Rashmika, who shot to fame with the movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ also delivered a captivating performance. The audience was captivated by her moves and grooves, making it an unforgettable evening for everyone.

Meanwhile, the IPL’s 16th season kicked off with a clash of heavyweight Chennai Super Kings (CSK)directed by MS Dhoni, and defending champions Gujarat titanslead by Hardik Pandaya. The match started after the Opening Ceremony, with GT winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
