Twitter Reactions: Nat Sciver, Issy Wong Send Mumbai Indians To WPL Finals After Big Win Over UP Warriorz


In the 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL) Eliminator, Mumbai Indians (MI) won against UP Warriorz and booked their spot in the final of the tournament.

Chasing the huge target of 183, the Warriorz never quite got the momentum they wanted as they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. UP was previously three down for 21 Kiran Navigire And Grace Harris tried to calm things down by adding 35 runs for the fourth wicket.

After Harris’ loss, Navgire formed another crucial 28-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Deepti Sharma. Then came Issy Wong, who had already fired UP’s skipper Alyssa Healey. Wong completely destroyed the Warriorz, whatever the hopes were, when she hit a hat-trick to ensure MI had the top clash with Capitals of Delhi (DC). In the end UP was bundled for 110 and lost the match by 72 runs.

Earlier, after being asked to bat, Mumbai posted a huge total of 182/4 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of Nat Sciver-Bruntbeautiful knock. The all-round star remained unbeaten on 72 from just 38 deliveries, including 9 fours and 2 sixes to propel MI to a huge total.

Aside from the veteran English cricketer, Amelia Kerr (29), Hayley Matthews (26) and Yastica Bhatia (21) chipped with valuable contributions. for UP, Sophia Ecclestone took two wickets for 39 runs in her 4 overs quota.
