Twitter Reactions: Ishan Kishan’s 210 blows Bangladesh away in 3rd ODI

Ishan Kishan hit the fastest double hundred in ODI cricket history as India defeated Bangladesh by 227 runs in the third and final ODI of the three match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday.

Asked to bat first, Kishan destroyed 210 from 131 deliveries while former India captain Virat Kohli (113 from 91) also hit his first ODI hundred since August 2019, propelling their side to a massive 409-8 aggregate.

Kishan, who got a chance to open in the innings instead of an injured one Rohit Sharma, took Bangladesh bowlers to the dry cleaners and hit 24 fours and ten sixes on his sparkling knock. All-rounder Washington Sundar (37 from 27) took the team over 400 after a sudden drop of wickets in the death overs.

In reply, Bangladesh was bundled for 182 in 34 overs. Shardul Thakur was the bowlers’ choice for Team India with three wickets while Axar Patel and Umran Malik took two wickets each.

“The wicket was too good to hit. My intention was very clear. I am blessed to hear my name amongst such legends. I got out with 15 overs left. I could have gotten 300 too,’ Kishan said after joining people like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma in the club of the double century.

The 24-year-old also thanked Virat for calming him down as he approached his maiden ODI hundred.

“I was batting with Virat bhai, and he knew exactly which bowlers to select [to target]. I was on 95 and wanted to hit, but he calmed me down and said it was my first hundred,” Kishan added.
