Twitter Reactions: Adelaide Strikers pack Sydney Thunder for lowest ever T20 total – BBL|12

The ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23 witnessed an incredible match on Friday at the Sydney Showground Stadium, where the former champions Sydney Thunder were bundled for the lowest total ever in BBL history.

Thunder, who won the 2015-16 edition of the competition, had just 15 runs past Adelaide attackers in the 5th game of the current season. First up, the Strikers went 139/9 in their allotted 20 overs, with Chris Lynn (36) and Colin de Grandhomme (33) making valuable contributions.

In response, the Thunder fell like a pack of cards and were knocked out for 15 runs within the power play, losing the game by 124 runs. Sydney’s total of 15 broke Turkey’s previous record of 21 all-outs against the Czech Republic in 2019.

Brendan Doggett, the pacer who took two wickets in the first innings, was Thunder’s highest scorer with 4 runs. As many as five batters were ejected for a duck. For Strikers, pacer Henry Thorton was the sloper-in-chief as he took a 5-wicket haul for just 3 runs in 2.5 overs. Likewise, Wes Agar returned with figures of 4 for 6 in 2 overs.
