Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara and others react to Murali Vijay’s retirement from international cricket

Former India opener Murali Vijay announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket on Monday 30 January. Vijay, who played his first game for India in 2008, took to Twitter to share the news.
In his career, Vijay played 61 test matches and collected 3982 runs. The 38-year-old also represented the country in 17 ODIs and 9 T20Is, but particularly excelled in the longest format, earning the title of India’s Test specialist.
The news of Vijay’s retirement drew congratulations from former and active cricketers.
Notably, Vijay was also part of India’s Champions Trophy victory in 2013, and most of the heartwarming tributes for him came from the teammates of the other champions.
Rohit Sharma congratulated the Tamil Nadu cricketer on a fantastic career and wished him the best of luck in future endeavours.
