In a high stakes encounter at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Titans emerged victorious by an impressive 62-run margin and marched to the finals they will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 28.

Brought to bat, the Titans put up a massive total of 233 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Shubman Gill demonstrated his brilliance with an exceptional batting of 129 runs on just 60 deliveries, including 7 fours and a whopping 10 sixes. Gill was supported by Sai Sudharsan, who contributed a whopping 43 runs off 31 balls. Captain Hardik Pandaya‘s quickfire 28 of 13 deliveries propelled the Titans further to their imposing total.

In pursuit of goal, Mumbai struggled to gain momentum as their batting line-up faltered, eventually being bowled out for 171 runs in 18.2 overs, falling 62 runs short. Suryakumar Yadav fought bravely and scored a well-made 61 runs off 38 balls while cameron green and Tilak Varma made useful contributions of 30 and 43 runs respectively.

The Titans’ bowlers put on an impressive display, led by Mohit Sharmawho claimed an incredible five wicket haul for just 10 runs in 2.2 overs. Rashid Khan And Muhammad Shami also made crucial breakthroughs, while taking 2 wickets each Josh Klein chipped with a wicket.
