PAK v NZ: ‘Does he want to play on roads’: Simon Doull digs for Babar Azam as he slams Karachi pitch

Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doulwho is currently commentating in the ongoing Test series between New Zealand and Pakistanslammed the fields of the National Stadium in Karachi.
In particular, Pakistan’s record in longest format has recently deteriorated as they have failed to win a single match at home in the last two Test series where flat tracks were offered in most games. No wonder the fans and pundits have shown their disappointment with the way pitches have played, where bowlers have received little to no help.
It has also damaged the Pakistan team’s track record as they lost back-to-back series on the World Test Championship (WTC) calendar to Australia and England to get out of the race to qualify for the WTC finals. Even in the running series, Pakistan is struggling against New Zealand’s Tim Southee.
After the draw in the first Karachi Test, the second game also seems to be heading in the same direction as the field seems to be behaving like a road on Day 4. if such traces were demanded by the captain Babar Azam himself, who wanted to improve his grades in the test format.
“Where does that directive come from? Is that coming from Babar, who wants to hit a road and improve his own stats? Is it coming from above him?” said Doll.

The 53-year-old suggested that ground crews should be given the freedom to do their jobs and those in the higher ranks should stay away. Doull believed that bowlers could not be expected to help their side on courses like these that have nothing to offer bowlers.
“Let the ground crew do their job well. The people above, the hierarchy, just have to keep their noses out. It offers nothing. There’s no grass on it. There is no seam movement and there is no wear. You choose a man like Mir Hamza, who has a great track record. You pick guys who are good at that level, but they come bowling this way. You can’t expect them to do the same job they do on a premium level if you’re going to produce these types of surfaces. said Doull while speaking on the Pitch Side show.
