Newcastle United vs Leicester City live stream and match preview
Looking for a live stream of Newcastle United vs Leicester City? We’ve got you covered.
Newcastle (opens in new tab) have not won a trophy since 1955, an extraordinarily long drought for a club of their size. The club’s fans were disappointed after a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend ended their FA Cup winning hopes, making the Carabao Cup their best chance for silverware this season.
Newcastle, who have already knocked out Tranmere, Crystal Palace (opens in new tab) and Bournemouth (opens in new tab) out of the league this season flying high in the Premier League. 0-0 draw at Arsenal (opens in new tab) the final timeout kept them third in the standings, nine points behind first (although they have played a game more than the Gunners).
A top four finish is starting to be a realistic goal for Eddie Howe’s side, but many Newcastle fans would rather see their team win a trophy this season. So there is little chance of Howe resting the regular first-team on Tuesday, as he did before meeting Wednesday over the weekend.
Leicester (opens in new tab) end a disappointing campaign in the top flight, but remain in both cup competitions. A 1-0 win over Gillingham on Saturday wasn’t particularly convincing, but at least Brendan Rodgers’ side found a way to get the job done.
With European qualification highly unlikely (at least through their Premier League position), Leicester will also take the Carabao and FA Cups seriously as long as they stay in it.
The Foxes will have to do without James Justin, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Boubakary Soumare and Ryan Bertrand at St James’ Park.
Dennis Praet could play a part in some capacity, while James Maddison fights to be fit enough for a spot in the match squad.
Newcastle will not be able to call on the services of Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Targett and Emil Krafth, while Allan Saint-Maximin will have to be monitored after illness.

VPN guide
If you’re abroad for a round of Carabao Cup action, your domestic on-demand services are annoyingly down – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You’ll be blocked from watching it, which isn’t ideal if you’ve paid for a subscription and still want to see the action without resorting to illegal feeds found on Reddit.
But help is available. To get around that, all you need to do is purchase a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it meets your broadcaster’s terms and conditions. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning the service can’t find out where you are and won’t automatically block the service you paid for. All information that passes between them is fully encrypted – and that’s a result.
There are plenty of great value options out there, as well Four Four Two currently recommends:
