Liverpool report: Reds agree deal for Enzo Fernandez

Liverpool have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement to sign Argentina’s World Cup breakout star Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez has taken Qatar by storm in the center of the Albiceleste midfield, scoring a stunner against Mexico in the second game and becoming a regular for Lionel Scaloni. The 21-year-old only moved to Europe from River Plate in the summer and signed for Benfica.
But with Liverpool looking for new blood in midfield, reports from Spain and Portugal claim that Jurgen Klopp has already secured the star after a stunning tournament in which Fernandez helped Argentina to the final.
However, there is a bit of confusion as to who first found the story Fernandez set for Merseyside, according to Colin Miller (opens in new tab) from the mirror (opens in new tab).
Portuguese media channel File (opens in new tab) and Spanish edition Diary AS (opens in new tab) both are edging each other over the deal for the Benfica star, although The Reds’ interest in the star dates back to the summer.
Fernandez has mainly operated as number 8 throughout his career and would probably stay there, most likely on the right side of a midfield three. The energy he has is comparable to that of Jordan Henderson, while his vision is excellent. He has formed a formidable partnership with fellow World Cup star, Goncalo Ramos, while in the Primeira Liga.
With Liverpool looking for new midfielders, there may be no money in the budget for both Fernandez and Jude Bellingham.
The Reds currently have Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, James Milner, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho all as options in midfield – not to mention Arthur Melo who is on loan. rented out. Some of these players are likely to leave in the next two periods as Klopp looks set to correct form in the early part of the season.
Liverpool are sixth in the table, 15 points off the top.

Liverpool have been put up for sale by Fenway Sports Group, although Jurgen Klopp’s agent has denied the manager could also leave Merseyside.
The club’s big transfer target is apparently Jude Bellingham, but Real Madrid are also after the young English star. There are also other targets in midfield: Valencia’s Yunus Musah is on the radar, while Sofyan Amrabat is being watched. Liverpool could well be inquiring about Declan Rice, while Mohammed Kudus is also considered for a transfer.
Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is a target for Real Madrid.
