Leeds out of relegation zone after thriller about Wolves

Leeds United recorded a thrilling 4-2 victory over the ten-man Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The result means Leeds dragged themselves out of the relegation zone as they grabbed huge three points in their quest to avoid the end-of-season setback.
The Yorkshire club looked poised for a comfortable 3-0 victory with less than half an hour remaining, but two quick goals from the home side brought a chaotic end to the game.
Rodrigo Moreno scored a controversial goal in the 97th minute to calm the nerves in a back-and-forth match.
Bright start from Leeds
The visitors took the lead in the sixth minute when Jack Harrison scored with a magnificent strike after being set up by Wilfried Gnonto’s shooting run and cut back from the left wing.
Wolves would consider themselves unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when Junior Firpo caught Nelson Semedo in the penalty area, but VAR did not consider enough contact to award a penalty.
The hosts raised the bar after falling behind and came close to restoring the parity that dominated the game with the lion’s share of possession.
chaotic second half
Wolves failed to make their superiority count as they went into halftime one goal behind. Four minutes after the restart, Leeds were 2–0 up, seconds after they had a goal disallowed for offside.
Luke Ayling nodded in from close range after going completely unmarked by Marc Roca’s cross.
Two quickly became three after the hour mark as Rasmus Kristensen drilled into the bottom left corner just seconds after entering the field.
It looked like a comfortable victory for the visitors, but Wolves got a lifeline five minutes later when Jonny lifted his volley above Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who had initially come out of his box to score a header.
It became 3-2 in the 73ed minute when Matheus Cunha scored from a deflected effort to put the hosts back in the game as Leeds appeared to be out of petrol.
However, the hosts were reduced to ten men in the 84th minute when Jonny was sent off for a hard-hitting challenge on Ayling.
Rodrigo Moreno then calmed the nerves in the 97e minute when Leeds scored from a counter, with Wolves wanting to take the gamble and play further down the pitch.
The much-needed victory sees Leeds rises to 14e place with 26 points, 2 clear of the drop zone. Wolves, meanwhile, remain 13th with one point more, but have now lost two of their last three home games.
