IPL 2023, GT vs MI: Twitter erupts as Shubman Gill hammers his third barrel of the season
Gujarat titans (GT) star opener Shubman Gill continued his dream run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 while registering his third ton in the season in qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians (MI). The right-handed batsman scored a stunning 129 from 60 pitches after Gujarat was asked to bat first in the game.
Gill notably hit seven fours and ten sixes on his century knock, and his stroke play was a joy to watch. Thanks to his feat of arms, the right-handed batter outscored Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis also in the lead scorer’s race of IPL 2023.
It is also worth noting that Gill’s sensational inning took GT to a massive total of 233/5 in their allotted 20 overs in a knockout match against MI. Gill received impressive support from Sai Sudharsan, who contributed 43 valuable runs to the team total.
With the century against MI, Gill has now become the third highest run getter in a single IPL season after Virat Kohli And Josh Butler. Meanwhile, he also broke the record for the highest individual score in the IPL Playoffs viz Virender Sehwag‘s name.
