Delhi Capitals who finished the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in fifth place with seven wins in 14 games parted ways with only five players ahead of the IPL 2023 auction and kept their core intact.

They will enter the big event with a purse of INR 19.45 crore and will try to fill the voids in their team with some top quality autographs. Here are three players Delhi will try to target in the money-rich league’s auction.

1. Harry Beck

Anyone who has followed international cricket closely must have heard this name by now. The young gun from Yorkshire has been one of the best and most consistent batsmen across a variety of formats for England this year.

Brook was the third highest run scorer in the seven match T20I series against Pakistan with 238 runs in 6 innings. He also beat three centuries in three-match Test series against Pakistan under Asian conditions.

His ability to attack the bowlers especially spinners and break boundaries regularly will be of great importance to Delhi Capitals who are currently looking to fill that void.

The English leg spinner confirmed its availability in the upcoming auction for the 2023 edition of the money-rich league. Considering that Delhi Capitals does not have a leg spinner on the team, they could chase him in the auction.

He had a great T20 World Cup campaign with England where he put in great bowling performances against India and Pakistan in the semi-final and top of the tournament respectively.

3. Rilee Rossouw

The South African batsman has been in great form since making his comeback to international cricket earlier this year. He also became the first South African player to score a century in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

As Mitchell Marsh, who was ruled out for the entire BBL season due to injury, has been an injury prone player, Delhi Capitals could look to Roussouw as his backup for the number three.

He will be a great asset to the Delhi Capitals team and his experience will give a boost to the middle class who currently lack experience. He will complement Captain Rishabh Pant in the middle order.
