Finally, the game’s fate was sealed by a penalty shootout in which Argentina defeated France.

Argentina captain Messi, who scored two of the team’s three goals in the final, won the ‘Golden Ball’ as Player of the Tournament. After the exciting encounter, the cricketers shared their reactions on social media platforms.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Argentina and praised their captain Messi along with goalkeeper Martinez.

Former all-rounder in India Yuvraj Singh reminisced about Team India’s victory at the 2011 World Cup while congratulating Messi and his team. He wrote: “Incredible football game! Hard to put into words what it means for #messi, and Argentina brought me back to my memory when a special bunch of guys did it for No. 10!! #2011 Congratulations to all Argentina fans out there #FIFAWorldCupFinal @KMBappe.”
