Conte blasts Spurs players in fiery press conference

Antonio Conte launched into a blistering diatribe criticizing the Tottenham players and board after their 3-3 draw against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
The North London side looked confident of a routine win as they were 3-1 up with 15 minutes remaining, but Southampton didn’t give up and scored twice to take something out of the game.
The final goal came from a last breath penalty as the match ended in a three draw.
The result meant Tottenham missed out on crucial points in their hopes of a top-four finish.
Spurs are fourth on 49 points and are just two points ahead of Newcastle who are fifth, but they have played two extra games.
At the press conference, the Spurs manager did not hold back. The Italian berated his players for failing to deliver in crucial stages this campaign, while also calling them selfish in an unbelievable rant.
Conte said: “I’m really upset because this isn’t the first time and I think I can tell you today that this is upset because we’re winning 3-1 and 15 minutes to go and I think you have to win. “
Conte also said the players are not performing as a team where everyone thinks about themselves. “If you are like this it can happen, you lose to Sheffield United and drop the FA Cup and with AC Milan and to finish that run you win 3-1 and the last 15 you can give them the chance give to win.” coming back. I don’t see the players’ sense of responsibility.”
The 52-year-old continued: “Now it is difficult – we are working hard with this group and moving in the right direction. We are behind, I see a lot of negative situations and a lot of selfish situations and players I don’t like. I know the way to beat teams, in the past I have beaten many teams and won teams.”
Conte also took aim at the club’s ownership in his blistering diatribe: “They’re used to it here. Don’t play for anything important.
They don’t want to play under pressure. They don’t want to play under stress. This is the story of Tottenham. The owner has been there for 20 years and they have never won anything. Why? The fault is only for the club, or any manager who stays here. I’ve seen the managers Tottenham had on the bench.”
The manager concluded, saying: “It’s time to change this situation if Tottenham want to change. If they want to continue in this way, they can change the manager, lots and lots of managers, but the situation cannot change. Trust me.”
